Frequently Asked Questions
How to create folders and sub-folders?
In addition to the standard imap folders like "Inbox" or "Sent", it is possible to create custom mail folders and sub-folders to better classify the mail. All imap email clients offer the possibility to create new folders. A normal folder can store email messages but no additional folders or so called sub-folders. For this append a trailing "/" to the folder name. For example to create a folder "Family" which is able to contain additional sub-folders like "Joe", "Jane", first create a folder called "Family/" and create two folders "Joe" and "Jane" as sub-folder of "Family".
Return receipt does not always succeed
There is no Internet standard for email return receipts, thus the functionality of delivery acknowledgment is unpredictable.Because of privacy issues, the return receipt on delivery is turned off on our servers. Also most email servers do not send a receipt on delivery and such a request will fail most of the time.
A return receipt on read will only succeed if the recipient accept to send the receipt back. Also some email clients refuse the receipt per default or do not support it. The webmail do not acknowledge return receipts.
What about security?
Our mail server supports an encrypted secure communications protocol called SSL. In general it is wise to use SSL to prevent network hackers from eavesdropping on your network traffic and getting your password. To enable SSL, you will need to check your client configuration information. If using a browser, use the secure version of WebMail.
